#10 self-generated

Merry Christmas everyone! I really hope that no one went out to that scary crowd of black fridays shoppers. Christmas is a little outrageous this year, I feel like it came too fast. Between bills and christmas shopping, I think I would rather be a kid again waiting for Santa, There isn't much to time left and I accidently said it outloud what I was getting my mom thinking she was in the shower. That puts me back at square one, hopefully I figure it out soon. On the bright side, I get to see all my family, I can't wait for all the food!!! Best part about the Holidays! Enjoy Yours! Goodnight. Susie :)
#9 Media Synthesis
As the class comes to end, I do now understand the difference between media and meduim, meaning something that conveys a message. I chose the Bible as a medium because for many decades the Bible is the one book among many cultures that can be referred back to the way of life. For example, the way that the Bible is percieved by one individual could be different from someone else. I did my paper mostly on homosexaulity because there is more than one issue there, People use the Bible now to Justify their actions, and it could be in good or some bad ways. Now recently, the LGBT communities have been rising, and there is nothing wrong with that. What I do find wrong is how people are being treated because of their secaul orentation, vs. being judged for being a human being! Politicians have stepped in, this debate is no longer 200 years ago. The time is now, the Bible is being used in corrupt ways to justify people's actions. As a student, I've learned many new things about the Bible, and statistically how it effects people. As a began the transition into this paper I had to be completely ready for anything, so I cleared my mind. Allowing room to view others perspectives has let me gain knowlegde of ways that the Bible can be used for good, and when it's being imorally used. I hope to post my paper on here, so you all can read it too. Thanks! Stay tuned! -Susie :)
#8 Home-made Pizza
Today was a great day! Although it was a chilly day, it felt good to be home with family. My sister Alejandra is actually studying culinary arts but never cooks for us, which is a little funny to me. We come from a very hispanic background, but love italian food so much! We eat so much pasta! Bread!!!!! All types of bread, Italian to sourdough to fully seeded, bread is the best with butter. We've mastered how to make a spicy italian pasta, life is great! Today was a great day because for the first time we made a homemade pizza, we tried years ago with my uncle David but didn't turn out so great. My youngest sister actually made the Pizza, but not the crust, she did a wonderful job. So I thought I could share some easy do it yourself recipes to try at home! :)

http://allrecipes.com/video/1075/quick-and-easy-pizza-crust/ it's only two-three minutes long, but hey you get to make your own pizza. Enjoy! -Susie :)
#7 Dumb Men
This website is great! (http://www.dumbmen.com/) Actually I expected this website to be about shaming guys, but seems to be very different. This website is commically in many ways, such as relating to many things we've seen men in our life do, which is hitting right on with ethos in the rhetorical triangle. From watching the videos it seems like just another good time but there is more here, there is lots of deeper meaning to these postings. The purpose of the websiste is to open viewers eyes about the shaming of men in advertisment. This website sets out to expose all the stereotypes in these commercials, like for example in this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBF-Nq54SPE#action=share, the man loves the cereal and wants to keep contiuing to eat after his neighbor convinces him he can do anything he likes and then his wife comes out, so he's scared of what he's just said. This website is very interesting and it allowers viwers to gain perspective. Perspective on what our minds are picking up without realizing it. The message in this video that I gain is that women are mean in getting their way. The man was scared of his wife because she ended up right behind him. The bigger message is that men are viewed as having women characteristics based on the fact that they listen to women, Very contradicting! The audience could be men who feel that advertisment is sexist. There is strong rhetoric here, and it begins with the Title of this website, which is "Dumb Men", the website hits all three sides of the rhetorical triangle.

Blog entry #6 Worldly views.

What's in the sky?!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.9news.com/video/default.aspx?bctid=4602062538001

This video explains what many people seen over California and Arizona, and the unusally thing is that the light in the sky looks like it's coming out of nowhere! But of course, our government is filled with secrets (they say) lol, and they said that it was nothing out of this world! It was just a missile testing, is what they said. Great! Let's believe everything that is told to us. I wouldn't be so worked up about something like this normally but lately i've been having the most incredible dreams. By incredible, I mean it scares me to death. Not literaly. I had a dream I was abducted by aliens, and normally I wouldn't share a dream like that.. but it felt so real! When I heard of the so called missile testing a few days later I was a little shocked. I'm not sure if it's a sign, or i'm going insane at the moment, either way let's hope for the best. -Susie :)
Blog entry #5 Local story respond

As a student, I beleive that offering courses that allow flexibility to be a good thing. There is pros and cons to this new way of approaching school, but after reading the article Ibelieve that this can be do the most good. Finishing college in three years instead of four feels like such a relief to hear. The reason being that in high school, students had to complete four years of school to graduate. Three years is a great deal, I honestly feel that this serves very well to those students who do have full time duties. Like a full time job, many students are parents, so I feel that ASU is taking things like this into consideration. In a way it shows that the students are being heard, which is actually astonishing. This article hits all the sides of the rhetorical triangle by using examples, and providing evidence they've come across. for example, Ethos in this article can be found when Ryman states "ASU officials aren't looking to dump the traditional semester system for all face-to-face courses, but Capaldi said officials are evaluating some of the most popular courses within the most popular majors to see if they also would work in the shorter format." This falls under ethos because it show that in the ASU community issues are being worked on and they're trying to find a resolution to help their students achieve more. Ethical appeals are shown when Ryman states "71 percent of four-year colleges and universities use the traditional fall-spring semester system, but within the traditional semester, more schools are offering shorter courses, as well, said Barmack Nassirian, associate executive director for the American Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers." This article does well by presenting this because as a student I'm curious to see how other schools are offering programs to find out what is the best thing for me to do. For example, I'm glad this article was presented to me because I'm looking to transfer to a university and this sounds like a good alternative. As emotional appeals, the author used words like "saving money" which is emotional to every college student! Tuition isn't free, and I sure hope that these type of programs are effective. Thanks for reading! -Susie :)

Blog entry #4                              Rain in Arizona

Arizona rain makes everyone go insane! Work gets super busy because no one wants to cook. The rain just keeps on coming folks, the news did say it was going to be a wet winter. The cold, wet winter wouldn't be a problem anywhere but here in Arizona they're a big deal. Reason one being that Arizona is a desert, like a seriously dry desert so it's hot all year long. Two being that we never have real cold winters like those pictures we see from Alaska when they're covered in snow. Reason three being that for some odd reason people become so scared to drive! One day it'll take me ten to fifteen minutes to get from work to home and on rainy days it instantly doubles, how insane!!!!! Last but not least, let's talk about all the posts about the weather. INCLUDING ME. lol, since I'm posting this on my blog. I know it's raining!!!!! BUT THANKS FOR THE UPDATE. -Susie :)
