#7 Dumb Men
This website is great! (http://www.dumbmen.com/) Actually I expected this website to be about shaming guys, but seems to be very different. This website is commically in many ways, such as relating to many things we've seen men in our life do, which is hitting right on with ethos in the rhetorical triangle. From watching the videos it seems like just another good time but there is more here, there is lots of deeper meaning to these postings. The purpose of the websiste is to open viewers eyes about the shaming of men in advertisment. This website sets out to expose all the stereotypes in these commercials, like for example in this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBF-Nq54SPE#action=share, the man loves the cereal and wants to keep contiuing to eat after his neighbor convinces him he can do anything he likes and then his wife comes out, so he's scared of what he's just said. This website is very interesting and it allowers viwers to gain perspective. Perspective on what our minds are picking up without realizing it. The message in this video that I gain is that women are mean in getting their way. The man was scared of his wife because she ended up right behind him. The bigger message is that men are viewed as having women characteristics based on the fact that they listen to women, Very contradicting! The audience could be men who feel that advertisment is sexist. There is strong rhetoric here, and it begins with the Title of this website, which is "Dumb Men", the website hits all three sides of the rhetorical triangle.
